The Pillar 2 of the EJP RD has organized its first Annual Retreat which took place at the Istituto Superiore de Sanità (ISS) in Rome (Italy) from 22nd to 24th of May 2019.
This strategy-level meeting included 52 Participants from Pillar 2 (WP and task leaders) and ERNs representatives. Olaf Hiort, Endo-ERN deputy and paediatric chair, was present to represent Endo-ERN.
This “techies meet the savvies” reunion succeeded in setting a common ground for the Virtual Platform by exchanging and discussing about technologies and methodologies available. As a result, the prioritization strategy of the Pillar 2 in general and the development of the Virtual Platform (VP) in particular was realigned with the needs of ERNs and what they wish the VP to include. For improved work organization and ERN/Pillar 2 collaboration, fifteen work foci were defined and grouped in four categories, i.e. general challenges, tools/services, standards, and analysis.
The next EJP-RD Pillar 2 Annual Retreat meeting will take place in ISS, Rome (Italy), May 4-5-6, 2020.
