The FIRENDO network will award a grant for the 2026-2027 period to fund a collaborative research project between a FIRENDO member institution and a healthcare provider (HCP) that is a member of the ENDO-ERN (European Reference Network for Rare Endocrine Conditions) outside of France.
The grant aims to stimulate international collaborative clinical, translational, or basic research projects between:
a FIRENDO member institution (clinical or research laboratory, clinical department, patient association) – directory available here,
and an institution accredited as an Endo-ERN (European Reference Network for Rare Endocrine Diseases) HCP outside of France – directory available here.
The project must focus on one or more rare endocrine diseases within the FIRENDO scope.
The application must clearly demonstrate the nature of the collaboration and the synergy between the international teams. The long-term potential of this collaboration to foster a dynamic European research partnership between FIRENDO and ENDO-ERN is a significant factor.
The grant can be used for salaries, operating expenses, and/or travel expenses and will have a maximum value of €60,000.
The application must include:
CV of the project leader within the FIRENDO member institution (1 page + listing their 5 main publications on the topic);
Research proposal in collaboration with ENDO-ERN (maximum 5 pages, in French or English);
Any regulatory documents already obtained for projects involving human subjects (ethics committee approvals);
A project timeline for a feasible project within a maximum of 24 months;
A detailed budget for a maximum of 24 months (salaries / operating expenses / travel expenses, etc.), including your institution’s administrative costs (up to 10%);
A statement from the head of the FIRENDO member structure of the French public scientific and technological research institution (EPST) leading the project;
A statement from the coordinator of the healthcare provider, a member of ENDO-ERN, involved in the collaborative project.
