On December 6th we were at the CPMS workshop for ERN experts in Brussels, Belgium. The European Commission hosted this workshop to inform the employees of the operational help desks of the different ERNs of the functions of the CPMS and the best way to go about solving problems that might come up.

The Endo-ERN Helpdesk employees Danielle Steenvoorden (Adult clinician, located at the LUMC, Leiden) and Julia Hoppmann (Paediatric clinician, located at the UKSH, Lubeck) were present on the 6th of December, together with a handful of help desk employees of other ERNs which provided the perfect opportunity to meet colleagues.

Danielle and Julia wrote a short report on the workshop, which you can read below.

“The central role of the ERN operational help-desk in supporting members with the use of CPMS was emphasized greatly during the workshop.

We discussed many topics, but the main discussions focused on:

  • The service support from the OpenApp and DG SANTE Support Team: how to contact them in a structured manner based on priority of the question, problem, or bug.
  • The route of requests for new features and improvements of the CPMS
  • Access rights to the CPMS, the authorization and authentication process of our members, and the role of guest members in CPMS

The safety of the system was also explained in greater detail. The workshop leader emphasized that the CPMS is in complete agreement with the European Data Protection Regulations. On top of all this information we had the opportunity to receive hands-on training in the CPMS with many tips and tricks for using the system.

We found the day to be a very useful and informative event and we are both glad to have more detail on how the operational help desk will be supported by the European Commission, and to have met the other help desk employees. We look forward to our collaboration. ”

If you have any questions regarding the use of the CPMS, or suggested improvements please contact Danielle and Julia through our email address.
