Potential Hosts 2025

All Endo-ERN network members can be approached to host a Clinical Exchange and will receive points in their HCP Performace System score.  

For the 2025 exchange we are fortunte that the following members have outlined the exchange possibilities at their institution.  If you would like to be introduced to any of the potential hosts below or any other member please contact the Endo-ERN project office.


Evangelismos General Hospital, Athens, Greece

MTGs:  1,4,6,8

Timing:  Open

Specialities/Topics:  Clinical experience and several research projects are ongoing. 

Full assessment of people with complex endocrine and diabetes conditions. 

Clinics:  pituitary, thyroid cancer, radioiodine clinic, late cancer effect, adrenal cancer, female reproduction (with a gynaecologist) and an osteoporosis clinic.

Multidisciplinary meetings for adrenals, pituitary and thyroid cancer.

Diabetes center type 1 & 2.  For type 1 diabetes pump clinic and the diabetic neuropathy clinic in collaboration with a nephrologist.

As this hospital services the entire country they investigate more complex cases including Cushing disease, adrenal cancer, and endocrine emergencies. The department accepts referrals from all over the country.

Ospedale San Raffaele, Milan, Italy

MTGs:  1-8

Timing:  Any time except March 10-16 and the summer period (July 1- September 15, 2025)

Specialities/Topics:  Our centre participated in all MTGs and we are particularly involved in: 

 Turner’s, DSD, CAH, Hypogonadism, Klinefelter’s

– Thyroid disease (nodules, congenital hypothyroidism, cancer)

– Wolfram syndrome and rare diabetes

– Panhypopituitarism

– Hyperinsulinism and genetic obesity

– Calcium-phosphorus metabolism pathology

Our paediatric outpatient clinic also deals with transition and offer a multidisciplinary approach to many pathologies. There are both day clinics and day hospitals.

Interdisciplinary meetings are organised at our centre and we already host both residents in Paediatrics and specialists from other Italian centres.

AOU policlinico “G.Martino” Messina, Messina, Italy

MTGs:  1,2,5,6,8

Timing:  February – March  

Specialities/Topics:  

An exchange offering experience on multidisciplinary management of pituitary tumours.

The HCP indicates an exchange of up to 2 months is possible but please note Endo-ERN will fund a maximum of 5 days. 

Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg

MTGs:  3

Timing:  subject to availability due to other exchanges 

Specialities/Topics:  

An exchange program for someone interested in diagnosis and therapy of children and adolescents with diabetes.

We offer a large pediatric diabetology unit and we work as a multidisciplinary team and provide the newest diabetes technology (94% of our patients with CGM, 75% on insulin pumps and 64% on AID-systems).

We have a well-functioning pathway to diagnose rare forms of diabetes and 6% of our patients are diagnosed with a rare diabetes forms and are treated according to the latest guidelines.

Our team is focused on a patient-centered approach with least possible days of hospitalisations (0,24 days of hospitalization/patient/year). We are SWEET-Center and are proud to be ranked 8th of the SWEET centers based on metabolic control (adjusted CGI). One of our team members is part of the SWEET board.

We are organising camps for children with diabetes and several information session on diabetes for the families and caregivers but as well for other HCPs in the country.

University of Pisa, Italy

MTGs:  3

Timing:  13-26 January, 1-20 February, 1-30 April, 26 may- 8 June, 16 June – 12 July. From September to December TBD

Specialities/Topics:  Applicants interested in improving their skills on the management of Lipodystrophy Syndromes and how to care about these complex patients. 

Possible specialties: endocrinology and diabetology

Potential topics: learning about diagnosis and treatment of lipodystrophy syndromes followed up  at our National Reference Center. 

Applicants will able to join the activities of our outpatients clinic, receive personal tutoring, participate in dedicated seminars and ongoing clinical studies, contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, participate to laboratory research and diagnostic activities.

IRCCS of Reggio Emilia, Reggio Emilia, Italy

MTGs:  1,4,5,8

Timing:  March 10, 2025 to March 21, 2025

Specialities/Topics: 

Primary Aldosteronism, adrenal lesions, PPGL.

Potential program: theoretical lessons, support in clinical practice for the management of Primary Aldosteronism, adrenal lesions, PPGL, experience in the field: diagnostic tests in Day Service, subtyping in the interventional angiography room with the possibility of access to the operating room, review of internal case studies, the multidisciplinary company path. 

IRCCS Instituto Giannina Gaslini, Genova 

MTGs: 3,5,6,7,8

Specialities/Topics:  This institution has a Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit which can be part of the exchange.
