Endo-ERN is focused on 8 main thematic groups (MTGs) which cover rare and/or complex endocrine conditions
Endo-ERN is a network of 100+ Reference Centres (RCs) in 28 EU member states that offers access to clinical experts for patients with rare endocrine conditions.
Endo-ERN is the network for rare endocrine conditions providing healthcare professionals with access to a variety of resources to support patient care.
If you work at a member institution this page will help with your Endo-ERN contributions.
Access to rare disease expertise without the need to travel is a core ERN objective. Our ePAGs contribute to all Endo-ERN activities.
Specific preference criteria to select exchange visits for funding:
1. Join existing established best practices, for instance (VBCH) care pathways or successful endorsed ERN workshops.
2. Specific members of the MDT, prioritising specialized nurses (in training) for expertise development and other professional groups that cover psycho-social aspects.
3. Affiliated members and members with promising care paths in development and/or limited
funds should have priority on visits, to reduce inequalities. This can include
bi-directional exchange (both visiting and hosting).
4. Expected added value for both host and visitor.
5. Adult-paediatric balance, preferably focused on the transition phase.
6. Inter-ERN exchanges for specific conditions that have a home in more than one ERN.
Funding criteria
With funding from Endo-ERN, each exchange package will provide funds for a max 5-day exchange visit that will expand or enhance the rare disease knowledge in the network. Potential exchange sites include:
· An Endo-ERN HCP
· An HCP of one of the other 23 ERNs
· Any institution in Europe that will facilitate an exchange that will support the expansion
of rare disease expertise
The visitor should work for an Endo-ERN HCP, the hosting institution could be an ERN or non-ERN HCP. Visitors can be from Endo-ERN full members or affiliated partners (including members of their multi-disciplinary teams).
Per Endo-ERN HCP, one application (as a visitor) can be accepted per year. One package
includes reimbursement of travel costs, accommodation and a daily allowance
(for local transport and food)*. Travel insurance is NOT included.
A request to combine packages for a longer period can be considered, on a case by case
basis. There are 8 packages available per call**.
This exchange programme is not intended for attendance of courses, symposia, meetings or congresses.
*There is a distance-related fixed budget for travelling, and a location-related fixed budget for accommodation and daily
allowance, according to the EU-Commission decision of 26/07/2023. unit-cost-decision-travel_en.pdf (europa.eu)
