SUCCESS: TALENT meeting report

Talent 2025 All together

The 7th edition of the TALENT (Transition Adolescence and young aduLts – Endocrine diseases managemenT) conference took place on February 11-12, 2025, at the “Roma Eventi” congress center in Rome, Piazza della Pilotta 5. The event, officially endorsed by Endo-ERN, welcomed approximately 200 participants, including leading international experts in rare endocrine diseases.

A unique and longstanding feature of TALENT, present since its first edition, is its strong editorial activity, with dedicated working groups composed of both young and senior experts. These groups convene before the start of each conference to develop high-quality scientific papers focused on the key challenges related to the transition of care for patients with rare diseases. This initiative has become a cornerstone of TALENT, fostering collaboration and scientific advancement in the field.

The scientific program included 20 keynote lectures delivered by leading international experts affiliated with Endo-ERN, structured according to the 8 Main Thematic Groups (MTGs). A total of 36 speakers and moderators contributed to the discussions, ensuring a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to the topics covered.

A significant highlight of the conference was a dedicated session on precision medicine in rare endocrine diseases, supported by members of the “Heal Italia” project (NRRP, Spoke 4). This session emphasized the importance of personalized therapeutic approaches in optimizing patient outcomes.

Additionally, an educational course organized by the European Academy of Andrology (EAA) was held, focusing on Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism and Bone Accrual. This initiative provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange among experts, enhancing the understanding of the relationship between hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and bone health.

Importantly, the event hosted the first meeting of the Endo-ERN Transversal Working Group on Transition of Care.

A roundtable discussion during this session led to the drafting of the Consensus Document for the First International Consultation on the Transition of Care in Rare Endocrine Disorders, marking a crucial step in advancing standardized transition care practices.

The 7th edition of TALENT once again reaffirmed its role as a key international platform for fostering collaboration, advancing research, and improving the management of rare endocrine diseases, with a particular emphasis on the critical transition phase from pediatric to adult care.

Alongside the scientific program, the conference was enriched by several social events, including dinners and a guided tour of the ‘Doria Pamphilj’ gallery, emphasizing the importance of networking and team-building among participants.
