FAQ
The most frequent question I am asked about is logging on. The system recently implemented a requirement to use the EU Login App for secure authentication. For those users that were using a text authentication this is a change that they may not be aware of, but the solution is simple – download the EU Login App. There is a helpful video provided by the EU that shows how to add a mobile device to your EU Login Account. And specifically how to login to CPMS 2.0 using the EU Login App.
I also encounter users often having trouble Joining a Meeting because of their institution’s firewall. My advice to users is to contact their IT helpdesk and have CPMS 2.0 whitelisted. In most cases this solves any technical issues.
CPMS 2.0
It takes some time to get started with the CPMS Login, but once access is enabled, the new modern interface of CPMS 2.0 offers a completely different experience. The interface is simple and very easy to navigate, a vast improvement over the old system that was in use until the end of last year. The more intuitive interface has received positive feedback from our users. Another great development during the summer was the launch of the CPMS 2.0 app, an even more convenient choice for some. All ERNs are using CPMS 2.0, and experts from all disciplines are now available in CPMS 2.0 to invite to a meeting.
CPMS Workflow
I’m conscious how busy the clinicians in the network are, and it isn’t always easy to use new tools. We worked hard to offer helpful materials and we are currently working on a document that shows the workflow of a CPMS case. While the meeting is the key part of any virtual consultation, the selection of the panel, the follow up actions including documentation, and closing the discussion might not always be obvious. I hope that by showing all the steps in a useful document it will reduce the need for reminders which is another email to very busy people.
At first, a virtual consultation might sound like just another online meeting. But it’s much more. It is a virtual gathering place for experts – a forum where colleagues can seek advice, have their recommendations confirmed, and see that others face similar challenges in care.
For those working in Endo-ERN reference centres I invite you to set-up an account in CPMS. Send me an email or make an appointment – I am happy to help you get started!
