5^th CAPITAL – June 5-6, 2025

You are invited to register for the 5th Care for Pituitary Adenomas Leiden (CAPITAL) multidisciplinary workshop in Leiden, The Netherlands, for two inspiring days of sharing best practices in pituitary care. We recommend attending CAPITAL together with all members of your multidisciplinary team, so you can discuss new insights and ideas during spare moments and reflect together on your own practice and future directions.

The previous editions of CAPITAL were highly interactive, with challenges and protocols shared, and study proposals discussed—a concept we will be repeating for this 5th edition. The faculty will address their practical approach in areas of uncertainty and will deliver engaging presentations for the multidisciplinary audience, including medical doctors of various specialties (endocrinology, neurosurgery, ENT, ophthalmology, radiotherapy, pathology), specialized nurses and nurses. Participants are invited to bring their own complex and/or interesting cases as well. Next to the plenary program, we will host a Nurse Symposium for (specialized) nurses.

Highlights of the topics to be discussed in the 5th edition of CAPITAL include:

• Decision-making regarding treatment of Cushing’s Disease, including (new) medical strategies
• Functional imaging for complex pituitary adenomas
• Surgical vs pharmacological treatment of prolactinoma, including counseling on the combination clinic and (inter)national studies
• Immunohistochemical assessment, as well as molecular and genetic analyses of pituitary lesions and the relevance in the clinic
• Role of radiotherapy in the treatment and management of pituitary adenomas
• Complex cases and best practices

 

The main topics of the Nurse Symposium are:

• Management of patients with Cushing’s Disease and adrenal insufficiency
• Complex cases
