Virtual Consultations with CPMS

The Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS) is a secure and fully GDPR compliant IT platform aiming to facilitate the cross-border discussion of rare clinical cases. 

In an effort to enhance both functionality and user experience, the current CPMS will be replaced by a new version of the system, the CPMS 2.0. The system migration is planned to be completed by the end of the year. CPMS 2.0 is now hosted on a purpose-built platform developed by DG Sante, ERNs, and IBM, ensuring better alignment with the specific needs of the users.

The main improvements of the new system include: 

• Simplified Sign-Up Process: One of the major improvements is the simplified sign-up process. No more SAAS – users can now enter or set up their account in CPMS 2.0 directly through EU login, making the process faster and more intuitive.
• Expert Invitations: Users can now invite other ERN experts directly, streamlining collaboration and communication.
• Meeting function: It is now possible to hold meetings on a specific patient as well as general care discussions 
• Controlled Patient Data Access: A patient is visible only to the enrolling clinician and their designated assistant, ensuring better privacy and control over sensitive information.
• Patient Discussion Invitations: Users will receive a linked calendar invite for patient discussion meetings
• Enhanced Communication Features: A 1:1 chat function is now available, allowing informal conversations with individuals or in group chats, fostering quicker communication.
