As we say goodbye to 2021, we look back on the work completed over the last year in updating and improving the CPMS, as well as what to look forward to in 2022!

New simplified workflow has been implemented since March 2021. Fewer issues were reported with usage and updated manuals were created for users

CPMS Current Usage Statistics:

Considering the difficulties felt worldwide with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is great to see the number of panels created and patients discussed using CPMS in 2021. Our current use of CPMS is shown on the right and a comparison with previous years is shown below it. 

Current CPMS is available as of December 15th 2021, including functional improvements such as:

  • Managing Expert Groups allowing quicker panel set-up
  • Improvement of the Video Conferencing tool
  • Automatic acceptance of recurring meetings
  • Extension of the Panel Manager permissions

Evaluation of CPMS & eHealth tools - From the beginning of next year DG Sante will be organizing small ERN-specific workshops in the context of the work of the ITAG. With your assistance, this is intended to address, for instance, the technical and organizational topics that would allow us to better understand your environment/needs.

  • Volunteers be be asked to assist with an evaluation of CPMS & tools 
  • Aim is to evaluate how it meets the needs of clinicians

The call for tenders for the new CPMS was published on the Official Journal, on December 8th 2021. We will keep you updated on this process and developments into 2022.

Panel Closures & Sign Off

Panels that are completed their purpose or are no longer being used to discuss the patient must be ‘Signed off’ and ‘Closed’ and ‘Archived’ in the system. This removes it as an active panel and reduces the cluttering of dashboards for experts. See here for further information

Guest accounts with a patient

For access to the Guest Virtual Centre, a request must be submitted by the helpdesk to the ERN support team. Please note that this is needed only for a guest user who is submitting a patient case / creating their panel

To reduce unnecessary system burden, the ERN IT support team are locking  accounts with no activity after a period of 12 months. If your account has been locked and you wish to reactivate it, please contact the Operational Helpdesk.

 

Who needs a Guest Account?

  1. If the hospital is not an Endo-ERN user
  2. If the clinician is not a rare disease expert/member of CPMS

This year we said goodbye to Danielle Steenvoorden (left), and thanked her for her great work with the Operational Helpdesk (OH). Her successor, Emily White, is working as the new project manager with Endo-ERN and the OH since September 2021. Like Danielle she can be contacted at the helpdesk email with any queries.
