Hôpital Bicêtre belongs to the Paris-Sud University Hospital Group, one of the 12 hospital groups located in the Paris region that are part of Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), the largest university hospital centre in Europe.
The hospital, thanks to the 4,500 professionals working there, offers comprehensive health care services covering a wide range of specialties, characterized by strong complementarities in terms of paediatric-adult care, within the framework of hospital-university excellence.

Moreover, it comprises 21 national rare diseases reference centres. Medical, paramedical and research teams make strong efforts to meet the patients’ needs, for example by developing early diagnostic tests and therapeutic education programs.

The Endocrinology Department has a strong expertise in rare inherited genetic or acquired disorders affecting the regulation of pituitary hormones, sex development and calcium-phosphate metabolism. It is also renowned for excellence of care and clinical research in the field of pituitary tumours.

The reference centres in the department have developed a multidisciplinary approach for these diseases, including access to the genetic diagnosis and specialised personalized care across the ages, from the foetus to the adult.
