Welcome Chris Breen new Endo-ERN ePAG

Chris-Breen

We extend a warm welcome to our newest ePAG Chris Breen from the Klinefelter’s Syndrome Association UK. Chris shares his journey to diagnosis:

“I wasn’t diagnosed with Klinefelter’s until about 7 years ago when I was 50. And have since discovered I have several underlining health problems which I was previously unaware of.

However, for me the diagnosis was very validating as it explained things that had happened throughout my life I previously attributed to just being slightly different from the average person.

Until I had my diagnosis, I had never heard of it, despite working in Healthcare since 1993 and being both a Registered Nurse and a Paramedic. I now teach full time at a University and most of my colleagues and students were unaware of Klinefelter’s and I’m now seeking to educate them. I`m also doing some research into Klinefelter’s and the risk of Metabolic Syndrome for a PhD with the hope of promoting earlier identification and treatment of the Syndrome.

This has all led to an interest and exploration of wider genetic and Endocrine problems some of whom have similar problems associated with them as Klinefelter’s.”

Chris lives in North Lincolnshire with his two cats.

Welcome Chris!
