1st LUMC MODY course

On Janurary 17th, 2018, the LUMC is hosting a course on Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY) in Leiden, The Netherlands.

2-3% of patients with Diabetes Mellitus also has MODY, but only a small part of the patients is genetically diagnosed. LUMC is hosting an education day on why it is important to recognize MODY and how to best treat patients. International speaker Andrew Hattersley will be present to answer questions and discuss cases.

The course will exist out of a plenary part and a workshop and will focus on the following topics:

• Which forms of MODY exist?
• Genetic Diagnostics
• Erfocentrum: early recognition of MODY
• MODY in children
• Different treatment of MODY
• MODY in pregnancy
